In English terminology, instead of 3/4 pants, we often meet with the designation "capri pants". They are such a compromise between long pants and shorts. For long trousers, we can also encounter a cut that allows the legs to be partially folded and adjusted to 3/4 length. First emerging in the early 1900s, three-quarter pants were designed as a more comfortable and breathable alternative to the heavy wool trousers typically worn by men at the time. often made from a lighter weight cotton or linen fabric, they became popular among young men during the summer months.
